This policy explains what information Jobenza (jobenza.co.za) collects when you use the site, why we collect it, and the choices you have. We aim to collect as little personal information as possible.

  • Job alert subscriptions: your email address and the search terms you want alerts for.
  • Messages you send us through the contact form or by email.

  • Standard server logs, including IP address, browser type, referring page and the time of your visit.
  • Cookies and similar technologies used to keep you signed in, remember preferences, measure traffic and serve advertising.

How we use it

We use this information to operate and secure the site, to send the job alerts you asked for, to respond to your enquiries, to understand which content is useful, and to display advertising that helps keep Jobenza free to use.

Advertising and cookies

We display third-party advertising on this site. Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this and other websites.

Analytics

We do not sell your personal information. We share it only with service providers who host the site, deliver our email, and serve advertising, and only to the extent needed to provide those services. We may also disclose information where we are legally required to do so.

When you click through to apply for a vacancy, you leave Jobenza and are subject to the privacy practices of the employer or job portal you land on. We do not send them your details.

Your rights under POPIA

South Africa’s Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA) gives you the right to ask what personal information we hold about you, to have it corrected, and to ask us to delete it. Email support@jobenza.co.za and we will respond within a reasonable period.

You can unsubscribe from job alerts at any time using the link in any alert email.

Data retention

Account and alert data is kept for as long as your account or subscription is active. Server logs are retained for a limited period for security and troubleshooting.

Children

Jobenza is intended for people of working age and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from them.

Changes to this policy

We will update this page when our practices change, and will revise the date at the top.
